Escape into a blissful haven in The Secret Garden between Tallaght Library and Rua Red this Culture Night as we present The Soft Space and Garden.

Intentionally curated and developed with neurodivergent adults and children in mind this specially designed area will include beautiful sensory lighting installations, chill-out soundscapes, relaxation zones, and even a cutting-edge virtual reality mediation experience.

Throughout the day, the programming also includes gentle workshops and performances designed to indulge the senses. These offerings encompass dance and music classes, ecology workshops, tai chi sessions, and art classes. In collaboration with NOISE Music and South Dublin Arts Office, this space has been developed by Natasha Duffy of SoFFt Productions, a cultural producer and designer living and working with ADHD. We look forward to chilling with you!

What is a sensory space?
A sensory space is a designated area that can support an adult or child’s sensory preferences and needs. It is a space that aims to provide people with the individualised sensory input they need to self-regulate, so they can be better prepared for enjoying festivals, events, and other large gatherings, and interacting with others. A sensory space addresses the primary senses; sight, hearing, smell, touch, vestibular, and proprioceptive. Other terms used to describe a sensory space include – Sensory room; Calm space; Chill out room; Multi-sensory room and Sensory garden.

The Soft Space is Commissioned by South Dublin County Council (SDCC) and curated and produced by SDCC and NOISE Music with SoFFt Productions. This event is funded by SDCC and The Arts Council of Ireland.
