Sound Ensemble | Terry Clancy

  • Every Wednesday
  • 7pm - 9:30pm

Sounds Ensemble caters for mature adults who wish to fulfill a yearning ambition to learn to read music, and play a musical instrument.

If you played while at school and life got in the way in later years, now is the time to “blow the dust” off your trumpet and take up that musical challenge once again. We are a group of classical musicians (learning), who meet every Thursday and tackle a repertoire ranging from ABBA to Tchaikovsky while at the same time, developing our musical talents along the way. You don’t need to be an accomplished musician, as there is room for everybody, but you will enjoy the journey getting to be one.

All classical instruments, including Guitar, Piano/Keyboard and Percussion are very welcome. You will also get an opportunity to show off as we get to perform at regular intervals. Come join the fun.

About Terry Clancy, M.A.:
Sounds Ensemble's Conductor and Musical Director, spent his early years with the Defence Forces School of Music. A member of the Army No.1 Band, he was appointed Senior Woodwind Instructor, and took on the role of developing young musicians for a professional career in the Army School of Music. He was also teaching in various Secondary and Primary schools such as Castleknock College, Templeogue College, St. Brigid’s Foxrock, but decided to devote his experiences to encouraging the “mature” generation to renew their interest in partaking in and enjoying music.
