For over 15 years, Carousel Theatre School has been bringing the magic of speech and drama to Rua Red, offering classes for young people aged 6 to 18. Our programmes are designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and communication skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Students develop stagecraft, vocal ability, and performance techniques through a wide range of activities, including acting, improvisation, mime, characterisation, storytelling, theatre games, and public speaking. As they progress, they also begin to explore the theory of speech and drama, preparing for both their annual productions and accredited drama exams.

Tots (ages 6—9) & Junior Class (ages 9—12): Young students are introduced to the world of speech and drama through structured exercises, playful activities, and imaginative role play. With a strong emphasis on creativity and fun, the class helps children grow in confidence and self-expression while developing skills in storytelling, reading aloud, poetry, and mime. Tots & Juniors take part in an annual theatre performance, giving them their first taste of the stage.

Senior Class (ages 12—14): This class builds on core performance skills, helping students refine their stage presence, vocal expression, and confidence. Through acting, improvisation, storytelling, and public speaking, students learn to bring characters and stories to life. They also begin to study the theory of speech and drama in preparation for drama exams and performances. Senior students participate in an annual theatre production, the Trinity College London Drama exams, and an end-of-year showcase.

Teen Class (ages 14—16 / ages 16—18): An advanced programme for older students, the Teen Class focuses on developing mature performance skills and a deeper understanding of theatre. Training includes acting, improvisation, voice production, movement, and theatre devising, alongside the study of theatre history and speech theory. Teen students showcase their talents through an annual theatre production, Trinity College London Drama exams, and the end-of-year showcase, preparing them for further study or performance opportunities.

CONTACT studio is a recording studio that is run by South Dublin County Council’s Arts Office. It was established to support the development of arts programming in the county, and to make participation in the arts accessible to the local community.

The studio has been based in Rua Red since it began operating in 2009. CONTACT studio works in partnership with local arts and cultural organisations including Music Generation South Dublin, Rua Red, The Civic, South Dublin Libraries, Alternative Entertainments, and Tallaght Community Arts, to provide a wide range of arts programming and events for the communities in South Dublin County including NOISE Music and SubSounds.

Services include recording, mixing, and editing.

There are multiple benefits from exercising when living with a chronic health condition, or as an older adult. COPDSI has developed an exercise programme delivered by a trained professional, who is able to tailor the exercises to your needs and ability. These classes are designed to help improve your physical, and mental symptoms. These classes take place either one or twice a week a specific time depending on the region. Participation in these classes has been proven to increase muscle strength, flexibility, strength and most importantly control of breathing.

Cúrsa Gaeilge ocht seachtaine do dhaoine fásta uair an chloig in aghaidh na seachtaine. An eight-week Irish course for adults for one hour a week.

Ranganna Gaeilge seachtainiúla do dhaoine fásta, a bhfuil roinnt Gaeilge acu cheana féin, atá sa chúrsa seo. Beidh sé ar siúl ar feadh ocht seachtaine. Cuirfear béim ar an teanga labhartha agus déanfar plé ar ghnáthchúrsai an tsaoil i nGaeilge. Ina theannta sin, beidh leathnú foclóra, seanfhocail, nathanna cainte úsáideacha, filiocht, amhráin, gramadach fheidhmiúil agus trialacha cluastuisceana ann. Is tri mheán na Gaeilge a dhéanfar gnó na ranganna thús go deireadh. Más maith leat triail a bhaint as, tá fáilte romhat teacht agus páirt a ghlacadh.

This course consists of weekly Irish classes for adults who already have some Irish. It will run for eight weeks. Emphasis will be put on the spoken language, where everyday life will be discussed using Irish. In addition to this, there will be vocabulary expansion, proverbs, useful phrases, poetry, songs, functional grammar, and listening exercises. The classes will be conducted in Irish from start to finish. If you wish to try it out, you are welcome to come and take part.

Dizzy Footwork Dance Academy is one of the capital’s most successful and prestigious dance schools, renowned for its high-quality training and community of dancers. Established in 2009 by the talented sibling duo, Lisa and Alan McGrath, the academy has been nurturing dancers of all ages and abilities for over a decade.

Lisa holds diplomas in Dance and Theatre Studies, a National Certificate in Exercise and Fitness, and an FDI qualification. Alan, having chosen the performance route, has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Jessie J, and David Guetta to name but a few. Together, they are passionate about sharing their expertise, experience, and love of dance with their students.

Dizzy Footwork offers a wide variety of classes catering to tots, teens, and young performers, covering an exciting and diverse range of dance styles. These include acrobatics, hip-hop, musical theatre, jazz, tap, commercial, lyrical dance, and drama.

Whether aspiring to perform professionally or simply dance for the fun of it, students at Dizzy Footwork receive top-tier training, mentorship, and the chance to be part of an inspiring dance family.

Children will learn a lot about different aspects and techniques of art while being encouraged to express their individuality and imagination, we will be making a fired pottery piece each term. Each child will receive a Doodle Bag of art materials for the term.

Doodlebox is different from any other art class for kids. Run by a qualified, experienced, and practicing art therapist, the gentleness of this approach combined with years of teaching experience provides a unique learning environment for all the children who attend. Children are encouraged to express their own individuality in their art, they are given every opportunity to be independent thinkers and makers.

Doors to Elsewhere is an integrated drama group that meet weekly on Friday mornings. The group is comprised of adults living with disabilities residing in South Dublin and is led by drama facilitators Jennifer Webster and Jenny Macdonald. Their work combines drama, dance, music, and singing.

The ensembles performances are original, devised works collectively created by the participants. All of the artists perform, but they are also the writers, directors, and designers of the work. Doors to Elsewhere is produced by Tallaght Community Arts

Kat Lee, a seasoned martial artist with over 30 years of experience, is an instructor with Chen Tai Chi Ireland and the British Health Qigong Association. She teaches both Chen and Yang styles of Tai Chi alongside Qigong, with a deep focus on Tai Chi for the past 12 years.

Join instructors Derval and Eimear during your lunch break for a revitalising yoga experience. This lunchtime yoga session combines the best of Hatha and Vinyasa styles, so that you can discover the perfect midday oasis for your holistic wellbeing. Hatha yoga offers a slower practice, with several breaths between poses. Vinyasa provides cardio and strength training as it links each breath to movement.‌ Overall, both hatha and vinyasa yoga styles will help you ease stress and anxiety while raising fitness, flexibility, and mindfulness.

The Des Carty Music School offers classes on guitar, keyboards, fiddle, banjo, voice, bass, mandolin, drums and tin whistle to music students aged 6-year and upwards. Catered to beginner, intermediate and advanced students in group and private classes.

The school was originally set up as a traditional music school, focusing on the song and dance music culture of Ireland. In that tradition tunes are passed down aurally, with less emphasis on written music. The school combined the traditional musician-to-musician approach with written exercises to retain the non-academic dissemination practices of the tradition, while employing simple music transcription to aid newcomers to the tradition.

Over the years the school has expanded to include many genres and more popular instruments, but the focus and philosophy of the school remains – music for music’s sake. If students wish to pursue more academic paths in their musical study our professional team of tutors can guide them in that pursuit, while for those wishing to make music a part of their life a more informal course can be designed. The Des Carty Music School’s team of instructors is a professional, passionate group of musicians chosen for their desire to make music more accessible to everyone who has ever wanted to play.

Project Fashion is an amazing opportunity for young children and teenagers to learn invaluable life skills and potentially inspire them for their future careers. Project Fashion Academy is run by Professional Designer Paul Alexander and his Fashion Team. Unleash your child's creativity, train them up in a skill that will last a lifetime, and get hands-on experience in a fun and educating way at our Fashion Design Workshops for children and teenagers.

Youth Classes
Ages 7 - 15
Students will learn to sew in a creative environment and are assigned a new project every one to two terms. They will receive class notes and information on fabrics & designers. The machines are very easy to use and are all the same brand, Janome, which are equipped with finger guards. New starters will learn all about sewing machine safety and basic operations and receive a Project Fashion certificate on completion of the course. Once they have received this certificate, they will join the rest of the group in more project-based workshops.

Teen Classes
Ages 13—17
At Project Fashion, students in our Teen Classes can use the Project Fashion patterns or alternatively bring a commercial pattern they have sourced themselves. Our expert tutors will teach each student how to read a commercial pattern and ensure their garment is made to the highest standard. Many of our students like to make unusual pieces or garments for occasions, such as debs dresses etc. At the end of the term, the aim is for all students to be confident in both their commercial pattern-reading and sewing skills. Our students also have the opportunity to enter the Annual Young Designer of the Year Awards, and Every year, our students have the opportunity to showcase their work at our fashion show.

Sightless Cinema led by theatre-maker Ciarán Taylor, adapts theatre devising techniques for the collaborative creation of audio theatre with people with sight loss. Groups meet over 6 to 9 months to devise, perform and record plays. It offers high quality collaboration opportunities, and professional production for public presentations at surround sound listening events in theatres and cinemas, which include live performances. It builds demand for disability arts provision and helps break barriers to participation.

SingStrong is a breathing and singing programme for people with COPD and other respiratory problems, which can improve your breathing, general physical and mental wellness, and overall quality of life.

This is an hour long class with a professional singer and vocal coach who has undertaken special training to teach singing to people with lung problems.

The class involves breathing, vocal exercises and of course, singing!

Join the Virginia House Creative Writers Group, a welcoming community for writers of all levels based in South Dublin. The group meets weekly to explore various aspects of creative writing, offering opportunities for peer feedback, discussion, and inspiration. The group is led by acclaimed writer and poet Maria Wallace, winner of the 2006 Hennessy Literary Award for Best Emerging Poetry for her poem That Hand Painted Plate Behind Glass. Maria’s expertise and guidance provide invaluable insight into the craft of writing, helping members refine their voice and technique. Newcomers are very welcome, just come along!

CÓRus believes in the power of  singing and in the proven benefits that it can bring both emotionally & physically.  CÓRus also believe that everyone has a natural voice but not all of us have been taught the correct way to find and improve that voice.

Humans have always sung. Singing connects us at a physiological level and strengthens bonds. But in recent times it’s become the norm to believe that only the best singer should sing, only perfect voices should be heard.  Some of us have been told ‘we can’t sing’, many believe our voices aren’t ‘good enough’ and a lot of us have simply stopped singing.  Many of the opportunities that traditionally brought people together to sing are disappearing.

CÓRus wants to restore people’s confidence that it is our birthright to sing and offers everyone the opportunity to learn to sing using our unique and easily accessible methods of group singing classes. There are no soloists in CÓRus just a choir of people, using their natural voices to learn to sing in perfect harmony.

At the end of term, class members are invited to join our choirs for a combined end of year concert and may also be invited to perform occasional concerts for local and charitable events to showcase their newly acquired singing skills.

CÓRus class members are invited but not obliged to attend any event outside of class.

Join weekly gentle exercise class designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, led by a qualified Siel Bleu instructor with expertise in adapted physical activity. This class focuses on improving mobility, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being.

The exercises are low-impact and can be done either seated or standing, depending on individual comfort levels and ability. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Care partners are welcome to stay and participate or simply observe, providing additional support and encouragement. No prior experience is needed.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at drawing but didn’t know where to start? Or are you an aspiring artist looking for a relaxed space to practice and connect with others? This self-led drawing session is the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity at your own pace.

With no tutor, this is a free-flowing session where you can sketch, experiment, and develop your skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned artist, you’ll have the chance to meet like-minded individuals, share ideas, and enjoy the creative process together.

Some materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favourite sketchbook or drawing tools.

Causeway Theatre School welcomes young performers from the age of four, inspiring and building confidence through dance, drama, and singing. Causeway provides a supportive environment for children of all backgrounds and experience levels, introducing them to the fundamentals of the performing arts. They create a safe and encouraging space where students can develop their creativity, make lasting memories, and form lifelong friendships.

Junior Class offers a fun and playful introduction to dance, drama, and singing. This class encourages creativity through engaging activities, theatre games, and movement-based exercises. Young students build confidence while making new friends in an enjoyable and dynamic setting.

Intermediate and Senior Programme students can focus on a single discipline or blend both, exploring styles such as jazz, commercial, lyrical, musical theatre, and hip-hop in dance, while drama introduces improvisation, role play, theatre games, comedy sketches, and scene work. Singing sessions develop vocal technique and acting through song, covering a range of styles from musical theatre to contemporary pop.

Advanced Senior Performance Class provides an intensive training experience with high-level blend of dance, drama, and singing. Membership is by invitation following an annual audition each September. Students work on advanced choreography, drama techniques, and performance pieces, with opportunities to devise original work for the Summer Show under the guidance of their teachers.

Established in 2010, DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio is a core programme of TCA - South Dublin Participatory Arts. It is a professional artist’s studio based at Rua Red, dedicated to enabling people living with a disability to meet and integrate with other artists.

The studio is home to 80 artist members - creative adults who live with a disability and attend the studio on a weekly basis - and is currently staffed by four professional artist mentors.

Music Studio is a sister branch of DoubleTAKE Supported Art Studio.

During each Supported session, participants are encouraged to explore their unique sound, develop their sense of rhythm, and musical interests through guided lessons, hands-on exercises, and creative exploration.

Led by a team of professional and experienced musicians, the workshop offers a mix of expertise spanning various instruments, genres, and musical techniques.

Sounds Ensemble is a Dublin based music ensemble, of which Terry Clancy M.A., is conductor and musical director. Sounds Ensemble gives mature adults an opportunity to learn and play music together in a fun, enthusiastic environment. You don't have to be a soloist or a "great player" to join Sounds Ensemble, there is a place for everyone, whatever the standard. The focus is on enjoyment! From Bach to the Beatles, the repertoire offers challenges for everyone, whether you're a seasoned player or just a beginner.

Sound Ensemble is a fully-fledged Community Concert Band offering services free to the community in the form of very successful charity concerts with the RNLI; The Irish Heart Foundation; The 3Ts; Simon; Tallaght Cancer Support Group; Moldova Project; The Jack & Jill Foundation; and many more, being the beneficiaries of those concerts.

Terry Clancy's instrumental lessons are available for clarinet, saxophone, flute, oboe, trombone, and recorder. Lessons can be just for fun, in preparation for the Junior Cert or Leaving Cert, and all examination board exams are covered. Styles including jazz, swing, popular, and classical genres are all covered—you call the shots!

Terry Clancy M.A., is the Sounds Ensemble Conductor and Musical Director. He spent his early years with the Defence Forces School of Music. A member of the Army No.1 Band, he was appointed Senior Woodwind Instructor and took on the role of developing young musicians for a professional career in the Army School of Music. He has previously taught in various Secondary and Primary schools such as Castleknock College, Templeogue College, and St. Brigid’s Foxrock.

This is a mixed media art class with a choice of drawing and painting materials. Small class 1:1 tuition. Materials provided in first term with a materials list. Classes are 1 hour and half each session.

Come join us for the November Intercultural Artists' Network meeting at Rua Red and meet fellow creatives based in South Dublin County. There will be plenty of discussion on shaping the future of the network, and the opportunities and events that are to follow!

Xchange is a two-hour event, which will provide space for collaboration among live art practitioners, dancers, poets, activists, and sound artists who are interested in experimenting as part of a performance art jam. 

Inspired by the monthly meetings organised by Bbeyond and in response to the lack of similar opportunities to perform collaboratively and improvisationally in Dublin, Xchange was founded by Olivia Hassett and Paul Regan. Xchange seeks to provide a platform to create live art and to explore encounters not only between those who take part but also those who witness. Our objective is to promote performance art in the local community and beyond as an unconventional and vital art form for the times we live in.

SubSounds is a youth music collective that is managed and delivered by a partnership between Alternative Entertainments and CONTACT Studio. Sub Sounds aims to empower young people to develop their creativity, musicianship and composition skills through mentorship and collaboration. There are various projects within the collective: SubSounds LP and SubSounds EP.

SubSounds LP is a group of participants aged 14—18. During these sessions participants take part in workshops covering basic musicianship, ensemble playing, songwriting and performing. They write and arrange songs that are worked on in groups, adding band arrangements under the guidance of the tutors. The participants have the opportunity to try out and play new instruments, and perform them as part of a band. The SubSounds LP group work towards creating a collaborative album of their original songs that they write throughout the year.  This album is recorded in the famous Studio 1 of Windmill Lane Recording Studio in Dublin City. The group then launch this album at a gig in a live music venue in Dublin.

SubSounds EP is a song-writing and recording course that caters for individuals who are new to SubSounds. Participants take part in workshops covering songwriting, composition and performing. This course focuses on teaching participants basic musicianship, band etiquette and other skills that helps prepare them to join the SubSounds LP group, and ultimately for their journey in the music industry. The SubSounds EP group work towards creating a collaborative EP of their original songs that they write throughout the term.

Over 8 weeks, mothers, and their babies (up to 1 year) are invited into Rua Red’s Dance Studio to explore movement as a creative practice shaped by the realities of early motherhood.

Guided by artist Gráinne O’Carroll, whose work spans visual art and physical theatre, the sessions aim to combine structured exercises with improvisation, inviting participants to move with their babies, respond to music, and experiment with rhythm, interruption, and repetition. Rocking, bouncing, swaying, and even feeding become part of the material we work with, rather than distractions.

Gráinne will be facilitating and participating with her own 7-month-old, creating a space that is not quite a class, not quite a mother-and-baby group, but something in-between: a shared exploration of movement, expression, and exchange. Sometimes there will be interruptions, and that’s okay!

What to Expect:

• Gently working on strength and stretching for postpartum bodies

• Warming up in ways that adapt the meditative ways of soothing and repetition

• Fun, play, and improvisation

• Sharing! Participants are welcome to bring suggestions, tell stories, bring poems, props, etc.

Important:

• You don’t need to have any drama, dance or movement experience

• Please bring a sling/carrier for your baby (if you don’t have one Gráinne will bring two spares, and anyone with an extra one is encouraged to bring it along to share)

• Wear comfortable clothes, and be comfortable barefoot/in socks.

And, after each session, we’ll hang out for a cuppa and chat at Rua Red’s café!

About Gráinne O’Carroll: Gráinne O’Carroll is a Dublin-based artist working across visual art and physical theatre. Trained in Dublin, Bergen and Barcelona, her practice explores the body as site and subject of intelligence, mystery, and creativity, often through improvisation and collective processes. As a first-time mother, she is currently researching how the everyday gestures, interruptions, and physicality of early motherhood can generate new creative forms and shared performance languages.

In these Language Explorers workshops, families will explore the beauty of language through storytelling, artmaking, movement and games with Fernanda Ferrari.

Together, we will discover fun ways to share our languages and cultures, telling favourite family stories, creating colourful artworks and learning new ways to express ourselves. No matter what language you speak at home, everyone is welcome to join the adventure!

Each session is different but connected to an overall theme. Come to as many workshops as you like! Mother Tongues’ Language Explorer workshops provide a unique creative experience for parents and their children based on storytelling, play, visual arts and music. While the workshops will be guided in English, we encourage families to embrace their home languages. This fosters meaningful connections between parents and children, creating a truly inclusive environment. Meet and connect with other like-minded families and share your language journey!

Please note: Workshops are free of charge, but booking is required as there is limited capacity. When you reserve a child ticket, the accompanying adult is automatically included. If you can’t make the event, please email us at hanna@mothertongues.ie so that some other family can benefit from attending the workshop.

Please remember that children must be under the supervision of an accompanying adult throughout the workshops.

Activities have been specifically designed for children aged 3 to 6. However, if you have an older child who wishes to participate, they are more than welcome (please book a place for them too). For children younger than 2.5 years, the activities might be too complex, but they are also welcome to accompany their older siblings. No need to reserve a spot for younger accompanying children.

This course consists of weekly Irish classes for adults who already have some Irish. It will run for eight weeks. Emphasis will be put on the spoken language, where everyday life will be discussed using Irish. In addition to this, there will be vocabulary expansion, proverbs, useful phrases, poetry, songs, functional grammar, and listening exercises. The classes will be conducted in Irish from start to finish. If you wish to try it out, you are welcome to come and take part.

Doors to Elsewhere is an integrated drama group that meet weekly on Friday mornings. The group is comprised of adults living with disabilities residing in South Dublin and is led by drama facilitators Jennifer Webster and Jenny Macdonald. Their work combines drama, dance, music, and singing.

The ensembles performances are original, devised works collectively created by the participants. All of the artists perform, but they are also the writers, directors, and designers of the work. Doors to Elsewhere is produced by Tallaght Community Arts

The Des Carty Music School offers classes on guitar, keyboards, fiddle, banjo, voice, bass, mandolin, drums and tin whistle to music students aged 6-year and upwards. Catered to beginner, intermediate and advanced students in group and private classes.

The school was originally set up as a traditional music school, focusing on the song and dance music culture of Ireland. In that tradition tunes are passed down aurally, with less emphasis on written music. The school combined the traditional musician-to-musician approach with written exercises to retain the non-academic dissemination practices of the tradition, while employing simple music transcription to aid newcomers to the tradition.

Over the years the school has expanded to include many genres and more popular instruments, but the focus and philosophy of the school remains – music for music’s sake. If students wish to pursue more academic paths in their musical study our professional team of tutors can guide them in that pursuit, while for those wishing to make music a part of their life a more informal course can be designed. Youth Classes
Ages 7 - 15
Students will learn to sew in a creative environment and are assigned a new project every one to two terms. They will receive class notes and information on fabrics & designers. The machines are very easy to use and are all the same brand, Janome, which are equipped with finger guards. New starters will learn all about sewing machine safety and basic operations and receive a Project Fashion certificate on completion of the course. Once they have received this certificate, they will join the rest of the group in more project-based workshops.

Teen Classes
Ages 13—17
At Project Fashion, students in our Teen Classes can use the Project Fashion patterns or alternatively bring a commercial pattern they have sourced themselves. Our expert tutors will teach each student how to read a commercial pattern and ensure their garment is made to the highest standard. Many of our students like to make unusual pieces or garments for occasions, such as debs dresses etc. At the end of the term, the aim is for all students to be confident in both their commercial pattern-reading and sewing skills. Our students also have the opportunity to enter the Annual Young Designer of the Year Awards, and Every year, our students have the opportunity to showcase their work at our fashion show.

Sightless Cinema led by theatre-maker Ciarán Taylor, adapts theatre devising techniques for the collaborative creation of audio theatre with people with sight loss. Groups meet over 6 to 9 months to devise, perform and record plays. It offers high quality collaboration opportunities, and professional production for public presentations at surround sound listening events in theatres and cinemas, which include live performances. It builds demand for disability arts provision and helps break barriers to participation.

SingStrong is a breathing and singing programme for people with COPD and other respiratory problems, which can improve your breathing, general physical and mental wellness, and overall quality of life.

This is an hour long class with a professional singer and vocal coach who has undertaken special training to teach singing to people with lung problems.

The class involves breathing, vocal exercises and of course, singing!

Join the Virginia House Creative Writers Group, a welcoming community for writers of all levels based in South Dublin. CÓRus believes in the power of  singing and in the proven benefits that it can bring both emotionally & physically.  CÓRus also believe that everyone has a natural voice but not all of us have been taught the correct way to find and improve that voice.

Humans have always sung. Singing connects us at a physiological level and strengthens bonds. But in recent times it’s become the norm to believe that only the best singer should sing, only perfect voices should be heard.  Some of us have been told ‘we can’t sing’, many believe our voices aren’t ‘good enough’ and a lot of us have simply stopped singing.  Many of the opportunities that traditionally brought people together to sing are disappearing.

CÓRus wants to restore people’s confidence that it is our birthright to sing and offers everyone the opportunity to learn to sing using our unique and easily accessible methods of group singing classes. There are no soloists in CÓRus just a choir of people, using their natural voices to learn to sing in perfect harmony.

At the end of term, class members are invited to join our choirs for a combined end of year concert and may also be invited to perform occasional concerts for local and charitable events to showcase their newly acquired singing skills.

CÓRus class members are invited but not obliged to attend any event outside of class.

Join weekly gentle exercise class designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, led by a qualified Siel Bleu instructor with expertise in adapted physical activity. This class focuses on improving mobility, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being.

The exercises are low-impact and can be done either seated or standing, depending on individual comfort levels and ability. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Care partners are welcome to stay and participate or simply observe, providing additional support and encouragement. No prior experience is needed.

Causeway Theatre School welcomes young performers from the age of four, inspiring and building confidence through dance, drama, and singing. Causeway provides a supportive environment for children of all backgrounds and experience levels, introducing them to the fundamentals of the performing arts. They create a safe and encouraging space where students can develop their creativity, make lasting memories, and form lifelong friendships.

Junior Class offers a fun and playful introduction to dance, drama, and singing. This class encourages creativity through engaging activities, theatre games, and movement-based exercises. Young students build confidence while making new friends in an enjoyable and dynamic setting.

Intermediate and Senior Programme students can focus on a single discipline or blend both, exploring styles such as jazz, commercial, lyrical, musical theatre, and hip-hop in dance, while drama introduces improvisation, role play, theatre games, comedy sketches, and scene work. Singing sessions develop vocal technique and acting through song, covering a range of styles from musical theatre to contemporary pop.

Advanced Senior Performance Class provides an intensive training experience with high-level blend of dance, drama, and singing. Membership is by invitation following an annual audition each September. Students work on advanced choreography, drama techniques, and performance pieces, with opportunities to devise original work for the Summer Show under the guidance of their teachers.

Established in 2010, DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio is a core programme of TCA - South Dublin Participatory Arts. It is a professional artist’s studio based at Rua Red, dedicated to enabling people living with a disability to meet and integrate with other artists.

The studio is home to 80 artist members - creative adults who live with a disability and attend the studio on a weekly basis - and is currently staffed by four professional artist mentors.

Music Studio is a sister branch of DoubleTAKE Supported Art Studio.

During each Supported session, participants are encouraged to explore their unique sound, develop their sense of rhythm, and musical interests through guided lessons, hands-on exercises, and creative exploration.

Led by a team of professional and experienced musicians, the workshop offers a mix of expertise spanning various instruments, genres, and musical techniques.

Sounds Ensemble is a Dublin based music ensemble, of which Terry Clancy M.A., is conductor and musical director. Sounds Ensemble gives mature adults an opportunity to learn and play music together in a fun, enthusiastic environment. You don't have to be a soloist or a "great player" to join Sounds Ensemble, there is a place for everyone, whatever the standard. The focus is on enjoyment! From Bach to the Beatles, the repertoire offers challenges for everyone, whether you're a seasoned player or just a beginner.

Sound Ensemble is a fully-fledged Community Concert Band offering services free to the community in the form of very successful charity concerts with the RNLI; The Irish Heart Foundation; The 3Ts; Simon; Tallaght Cancer Support Group; Moldova Project; The Jack & Jill Foundation; and many more, being the beneficiaries of those concerts.

Terry Clancy's instrumental lessons are available for clarinet, saxophone, flute, oboe, trombone, and recorder. Lessons can be just for fun, in preparation for the Junior Cert or Leaving Cert, and all examination board exams are covered. Styles including jazz, swing, popular, and classical genres are all covered—you call the shots!

Terry Clancy M.A., is the Sounds Ensemble Conductor and Musical Director. He spent his early years with the Defence Forces School of Music. A member of the Army No.1 Band, he was appointed Senior Woodwind Instructor and took on the role of developing young musicians for a professional career in the Army School of Music. He has previously taught in various Secondary and Primary schools such as Castleknock College, Templeogue College, and St. Brigid’s Foxrock.

This is a mixed media art class with a choice of drawing and painting materials. Small class 1:1 tuition. Materials provided in first term with a materials list. Classes are 1 hour and half each session.

Xchange is a two-hour event, which will provide space for collaboration among live art practitioners, dancers, poets, activists, and sound artists who are interested in experimenting as part of a performance art jam. 

Inspired by the monthly meetings organised by Bbeyond and in response to the lack of similar opportunities to perform collaboratively and improvisationally in Dublin, Xchange was founded by Olivia Hassett and Paul Regan. Xchange seeks to provide a platform to create live art and to explore encounters not only between those who take part but also those who witness. Our objective is to promote performance art in the local community and beyond as an unconventional and vital art form for the times we live in.

SubSounds is a youth music collective that is managed and delivered by a partnership between Alternative Entertainments and CONTACT Studio. Sub Sounds aims to empower young people to develop their creativity, musicianship and composition skills through mentorship and collaboration. There are various projects within the collective: SubSounds LP and SubSounds EP.

SubSounds LP is a group of participants aged 14—18. During these sessions participants take part in workshops covering basic musicianship, ensemble playing, songwriting and performing. They write and arrange songs that are worked on in groups, adding band arrangements under the guidance of the tutors. The participants have the opportunity to try out and play new instruments, and perform them as part of a band. The SubSounds LP group work towards creating a collaborative album of their original songs that they write throughout the year.  This album is recorded in the famous Studio 1 of Windmill Lane Recording Studio in Dublin City. The group then launch this album at a gig in a live music venue in Dublin.

SubSounds EP is a song-writing and recording course that caters for individuals who are new to SubSounds. Participants take part in workshops covering songwriting, composition and performing. This course focuses on teaching participants basic musicianship, band etiquette and other skills that helps prepare them to join the SubSounds LP group, and ultimately for their journey in the music industry. The SubSounds EP group work towards creating a collaborative EP of their original songs that they write throughout the term.

Over 8 weeks, mothers, and their babies (up to 1 year) are invited into Rua Red’s Dance Studio to explore movement as a creative practice shaped by the realities of early motherhood.

Guided by artist Gráinne O’Carroll, whose work spans visual art and physical theatre, the sessions aim to combine structured exercises with improvisation, inviting participants to move with their babies, respond to music, and experiment with rhythm, interruption, and repetition. Rocking, bouncing, swaying, and even feeding become part of the material we work with, rather than distractions.

Gráinne will be facilitating and participating with her own 7-month-old, creating a space that is not quite a class, not quite a mother-and-baby group, but something in-between: a shared exploration of movement, expression, and exchange. Sometimes there will be interruptions, and that’s okay!

What to Expect:

• Gently working on strength and stretching for postpartum bodies

• Warming up in ways that adapt the meditative ways of soothing and repetition

• Fun, play, and improvisation

• Sharing! Participants are welcome to bring suggestions, tell stories, bring poems, props, etc.

Important:

• You don’t need to have any drama, dance or movement experience

• Please bring a sling/carrier for your baby (if you don’t have one Gráinne will bring two spares, and anyone with an extra one is encouraged to bring it along to share)

• Wear comfortable clothes, and be comfortable barefoot/in socks.

And, after each session, we’ll hang out for a cuppa and chat at Rua Red’s café!

About Gráinne O’Carroll: Gráinne O’Carroll is a Dublin-based artist working across visual art and physical theatre. Trained in Dublin, Bergen and Barcelona, her practice explores the body as site and subject of intelligence, mystery, and creativity, often through improvisation and collective processes. As a first-time mother, she is currently researching how the everyday gestures, interruptions, and physicality of early motherhood can generate new creative forms and shared performance languages.

For over 15 years, Carousel Theatre School has been bringing the magic of speech and drama to Rua Red, offering classes for young people aged 6 to 18. Our programmes are designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and communication skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Students develop stagecraft, vocal ability, and performance techniques through a wide range of activities, including acting, improvisation, mime, characterisation, storytelling, theatre games, and public speaking. As they progress, they also begin to explore the theory of speech and drama, preparing for both their annual productions and accredited drama exams.

Tots (ages 6—9) & Junior Class (ages 9—12): Young students are introduced to the world of speech and drama through structured exercises, playful activities, and imaginative role play. With a strong emphasis on creativity and fun, the class helps children grow in confidence and self-expression while developing skills in storytelling, reading aloud, poetry, and mime. Doors to Elsewhere is an integrated drama group that meet weekly on Friday mornings. The group is comprised of adults living with disabilities residing in South Dublin and is led by drama facilitators Jennifer Webster and Jenny Macdonald. Their work combines drama, dance, music, and singing.

The ensembles performances are original, devised works collectively created by the participants. All of the artists perform, but they are also the writers, directors, and designers of the work. Doors to Elsewhere is produced by Tallaght Community Arts

In that tradition tunes are passed down aurally, with less emphasis on written music. Students will learn to sew in a creative environment and are assigned a new project every one to two terms. They will receive class notes and information on fabrics & designers. The machines are very easy to use and are all the same brand, Janome, which are equipped with finger guards. New starters will learn all about sewing machine safety and basic operations and receive a Project Fashion certificate on completion of the course. Once they have received this certificate, they will join the rest of the group in more project-based workshops.

Teen Classes
Ages 13—17
At Project Fashion, students in our Teen Classes can use the Project Fashion patterns or alternatively bring a commercial pattern they have sourced themselves. Our expert tutors will teach each student how to read a commercial pattern and ensure their garment is made to the highest standard. Many of our students like to make unusual pieces or garments for occasions, such as debs dresses etc. At the end of the term, the aim is for all students to be confident in both their commercial pattern-reading and sewing skills. Our students also have the opportunity to enter the Annual Young Designer of the Year Awards, and Every year, our students have the opportunity to showcase their work at our fashion show.

Sightless Cinema led by theatre-maker Ciarán Taylor, adapts theatre devising techniques for the collaborative creation of audio theatre with people with sight loss. Groups meet over 6 to 9 months to devise, perform and record plays. It offers high quality collaboration opportunities, and professional production for public presentations at surround sound listening events in theatres and cinemas, which include live performances. It builds demand for disability arts provision and helps break barriers to participation.

SingStrong is a breathing and singing programme for people with COPD and other respiratory problems, which can improve your breathing, general physical and mental wellness, and overall quality of life.

This is an hour long class with a professional singer and vocal coach who has undertaken special training to teach singing to people with lung problems.

The class involves breathing, vocal exercises and of course, singing!

Humans have always sung. Singing connects us at a physiological level and strengthens bonds. But in recent times it’s become the norm to believe that only the best singer should sing, only perfect voices should be heard.  Some of us have been told ‘we can’t sing’, many believe our voices aren’t ‘good enough’ and a lot of us have simply stopped singing.  Many of the opportunities that traditionally brought people together to sing are disappearing.

CÓRus wants to restore people’s confidence that it is our birthright to sing and offers everyone the opportunity to learn to sing using our unique and easily accessible methods of group singing classes. There are no soloists in CÓRus just a choir of people, using their natural voices to learn to sing in perfect harmony.

At the end of term, class members are invited to join our choirs for a combined end of year concert and may also be invited to perform occasional concerts for local and charitable events to showcase their newly acquired singing skills.

CÓRus class members are invited but not obliged to attend any event outside of class.

Causeway Theatre School welcomes young performers from the age of four, inspiring and building confidence through dance, drama, and singing. Causeway provides a supportive environment for children of all backgrounds and experience levels, introducing them to the fundamentals of the performing arts. They create a safe and encouraging space where students can develop their creativity, make lasting memories, and form lifelong friendships.

Junior Class offers a fun and playful introduction to dance, drama, and singing. This class encourages creativity through engaging activities, theatre games, and movement-based exercises. Young students build confidence while making new friends in an enjoyable and dynamic setting.

Intermediate and Senior Programme students can focus on a single discipline or blend both, exploring styles such as jazz, commercial, lyrical, musical theatre, and hip-hop in dance, while drama introduces improvisation, role play, theatre games, comedy sketches, and scene work. Singing sessions develop vocal technique and acting through song, covering a range of styles from musical theatre to contemporary pop.

Advanced Senior Performance Class provides an intensive training experience with high-level blend of dance, drama, and singing. Membership is by invitation following an annual audition each September. Students work on advanced choreography, drama techniques, and performance pieces, with opportunities to devise original work for the Summer Show under the guidance of their teachers.

Established in 2010, DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio is a core programme of TCA - South Dublin Participatory Arts. It is a professional artist’s studio based at Rua Red, dedicated to enabling people living with a disability to meet and integrate with other artists.

The studio is home to 80 artist members - creative adults who live with a disability and attend the studio on a weekly basis - and is currently staffed by four professional artist mentors.

Music Studio is a sister branch of DoubleTAKE Supported Art Studio.

During each Supported session, participants are encouraged to explore their unique sound, develop their sense of rhythm, and musical interests through guided lessons, hands-on exercises, and creative exploration.

Led by a team of professional and experienced musicians, the workshop offers a mix of expertise spanning various instruments, genres, and musical techniques.

Sounds Ensemble is a Dublin based music ensemble, of which Terry Clancy M.A., is conductor and musical director. Sounds Ensemble gives mature adults an opportunity to learn and play music together in a fun, enthusiastic environment. You don't have to be a soloist or a "great player" to join Sounds Ensemble, there is a place for everyone, whatever the standard. The focus is on enjoyment! From Bach to the Beatles, the repertoire offers challenges for everyone, whether you're a seasoned player or just a beginner.

Sound Ensemble is a fully-fledged Community Concert Band offering services free to the community in the form of very successful charity concerts with the RNLI; The Irish Heart Foundation; The 3Ts; Simon; Tallaght Cancer Support Group; Moldova Project; The Jack & Jill Foundation; and many more, being the beneficiaries of those concerts.

Terry Clancy's instrumental lessons are available for clarinet, saxophone, flute, oboe, trombone, and recorder. Lessons can be just for fun, in preparation for the Junior Cert or Leaving Cert, and all examination board exams are covered. Styles including jazz, swing, popular, and classical genres are all covered—you call the shots!

Terry Clancy M.A., is the Sounds Ensemble Conductor and Musical Director. He spent his early years with the Defence Forces School of Music. A member of the Army No.1 Band, he was appointed Senior Woodwind Instructor and took on the role of developing young musicians for a professional career in the Army School of Music. He has previously taught in various Secondary and Primary schools such as Castleknock College, Templeogue College, and St. Brigid’s Foxrock.

Xchange is a two-hour event, which will provide space for collaboration among live art practitioners, dancers, poets, activists, and sound artists who are interested in experimenting as part of a performance art jam. 

Inspired by the monthly meetings organised by Bbeyond and in response to the lack of similar opportunities to perform collaboratively and improvisationally in Dublin, Xchange was founded by Olivia Hassett and Paul Regan. Xchange seeks to provide a platform to create live art and to explore encounters not only between those who take part but also those who witness. Our objective is to promote performance art in the local community and beyond as an unconventional and vital art form for the times we live in.

SubSounds is a youth music collective that is managed and delivered by a partnership between Alternative Entertainments and CONTACT Studio. Sub Sounds aims to empower young people to develop their creativity, musicianship and composition skills through mentorship and collaboration. There are various projects within the collective: SubSounds LP and SubSounds EP.

SubSounds LP is a group of participants aged 14—18. During these sessions participants take part in workshops covering basic musicianship, ensemble playing, songwriting and performing. They write and arrange songs that are worked on in groups, adding band arrangements under the guidance of the tutors. The participants have the opportunity to try out and play new instruments, and perform them as part of a band. The SubSounds LP group work towards creating a collaborative album of their original songs that they write throughout the year.  This album is recorded in the famous Studio 1 of Windmill Lane Recording Studio in Dublin City. The group then launch this album at a gig in a live music venue in Dublin.

SubSounds EP is a song-writing and recording course that caters for individuals who are new to SubSounds. Participants take part in workshops covering songwriting, composition and performing. This course focuses on teaching participants basic musicianship, band etiquette and other skills that helps prepare them to join the SubSounds LP group, and ultimately for their journey in the music industry. The SubSounds EP group work towards creating a collaborative EP of their original songs that they write throughout the term.

For over 15 years, Carousel Theatre School has been bringing the magic of speech and drama to Rua Red, offering classes for young people aged 6 to 18. Our programmes are designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and communication skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Students develop stagecraft, vocal ability, and performance techniques through a wide range of activities, including acting, improvisation, mime, characterisation, storytelling, theatre games, and public speaking. As they progress, they also begin to explore the theory of speech and drama, preparing for both their annual productions and accredited drama exams.

CONTACT studio is a recording studio that is run by South Dublin County Council’s Arts Office. It was established to support the development of arts programming in the county, and to make participation in the arts accessible to the local community.

The studio has been based in Rua Red since it began operating in 2009. CONTACT studio works in partnership with local arts and cultural organisations including Music Generation South Dublin, Rua Red, The Civic, South Dublin Libraries, Alternative Entertainments, and Tallaght Community Arts, to provide a wide range of arts programming and events for the communities in South Dublin County including NOISE Music and SubSounds.

Services include recording, mixing, and editing.

SingStrong is a breathing and singing programme for people with COPD and other respiratory problems, which can improve your breathing, general physical and mental wellness, and overall quality of life.

This is an hour long class with a professional singer and vocal coach who has undertaken special training to teach singing to people with lung problems.

The class involves breathing, vocal exercises and of course, singing!

Join the Virginia House Creative Writers Group, a welcoming community for writers of all levels based in South Dublin. The group meets weekly to explore various aspects of creative writing, offering opportunities for peer feedback, discussion, and inspiration. The group is led by acclaimed writer and poet Maria Wallace, winner of the 2006 Hennessy Literary Award for Best Emerging Poetry for her poem That Hand Painted Plate Behind Glass. Maria’s expertise and guidance provide invaluable insight into the craft of writing, helping members refine their voice and technique. Newcomers are very welcome, just come along!

CÓRus believes in the power of  singing and in the proven benefits that it can bring both emotionally & physically.  CÓRus also believe that everyone has a natural voice but not all of us have been taught the correct way to find and improve that voice.

Humans have always sung. Singing connects us at a physiological level and strengthens bonds. But in recent times it’s become the norm to believe that only the best singer should sing, only perfect voices should be heard.  Some of us have been told ‘we can’t sing’, many believe our voices aren’t ‘good enough’ and a lot of us have simply stopped singing.  Many of the opportunities that traditionally brought people together to sing are disappearing.

CÓRus wants to restore people’s confidence that it is our birthright to sing and offers everyone the opportunity to learn to sing using our unique and easily accessible methods of group singing classes. There are no soloists in CÓRus just a choir of people, using their natural voices to learn to sing in perfect harmony.

At the end of term, class members are invited to join our choirs for a combined end of year concert and may also be invited to perform occasional concerts for local and charitable events to showcase their newly acquired singing skills.

CÓRus class members are invited but not obliged to attend any event outside of class.

Join weekly gentle exercise class designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, led by a qualified Siel Bleu instructor with expertise in adapted physical activity. This class focuses on improving mobility, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being.

The exercises are low-impact and can be done either seated or standing, depending on individual comfort levels and ability. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Care partners are welcome to stay and participate or simply observe, providing additional support and encouragement. No prior experience is needed.

Some materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favourite sketchbook or drawing tools.

Causeway Theatre School welcomes young performers from the age of four, inspiring and building confidence through dance, drama, and singing. Causeway provides a supportive environment for children of all backgrounds and experience levels, introducing them to the fundamentals of the performing arts. They create a safe and encouraging space where students can develop their creativity, make lasting memories, and form lifelong friendships.

Junior Class offers a fun and playful introduction to dance, drama, and singing. This class encourages creativity through engaging activities, theatre games, and movement-based exercises. Young students build confidence while making new friends in an enjoyable and dynamic setting.

Intermediate and Senior Programme students can focus on a single discipline or blend both, exploring styles such as jazz, commercial, lyrical, musical theatre, and hip-hop in dance, while drama introduces improvisation, role play, theatre games, comedy sketches, and scene work. Singing sessions develop vocal technique and acting through song, covering a range of styles from musical theatre to contemporary pop.

Advanced Senior Performance Class provides an intensive training experience with high-level blend of dance, drama, and singing. Membership is by invitation following an annual audition each September. Students work on advanced choreography, drama techniques, and performance pieces, with opportunities to devise original work for the Summer Show under the guidance of their teachers.

Established in 2010, DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio is a core programme of TCA - South Dublin Participatory Arts. It is a professional artist’s studio based at Rua Red, dedicated to enabling people living with a disability to meet and integrate with other artists.

The studio is home to 80 artist members - creative adults who live with a disability and attend the studio on a weekly basis - and is currently staffed by four professional artist mentors.

Music Studio is a sister branch of DoubleTAKE Supported Art Studio.

During each Supported session, participants are encouraged to explore their unique sound, develop their sense of rhythm, and musical interests through guided lessons, hands-on exercises, and creative exploration.

Led by a team of professional and experienced musicians, the workshop offers a mix of expertise spanning various instruments, genres, and musical techniques.

Sounds Ensemble is a Dublin based music ensemble, of which Terry Clancy M.A., is conductor and musical director. Sounds Ensemble gives mature adults an opportunity to learn and play music together in a fun, enthusiastic environment. You don't have to be a soloist or a "great player" to join Sounds Ensemble, there is a place for everyone, whatever the standard. The focus is on enjoyment! From Bach to the Beatles, the repertoire offers challenges for everyone, whether you're a seasoned player or just a beginner.

Sound Ensemble is a fully-fledged Community Concert Band offering services free to the community in the form of very successful charity concerts with the RNLI; The Irish Heart Foundation; The 3Ts; Simon; Tallaght Cancer Support Group; Moldova Project; The Jack & Jill Foundation; and many more, being the beneficiaries of those concerts.

Terry Clancy's instrumental lessons are available for clarinet, saxophone, flute, oboe, trombone, and recorder. Lessons can be just for fun, in preparation for the Junior Cert or Leaving Cert, and all examination board exams are covered. Styles including jazz, swing, popular, and classical genres are all covered—you call the shots!

Terry Clancy M.A., is the Sounds Ensemble Conductor and Musical Director. He spent his early years with the Defence Forces School of Music. A member of the Army No.1 Band, he was appointed Senior Woodwind Instructor and took on the role of developing young musicians for a professional career in the Army School of Music. He has previously taught in various Secondary and Primary schools such as Castleknock College, Templeogue College, and St. Brigid’s Foxrock.

This is a mixed media art class with a choice of drawing and painting materials. Small class 1:1 tuition. Materials provided in first term with a materials list. Classes are 1 hour and half each session.

Come join us for the November Intercultural Artists' Network meeting at Rua Red and meet fellow creatives based in South Dublin County. There will be plenty of discussion on shaping the future of the network, and the opportunities and events that are to follow!

Xchange is a two-hour event, which will provide space for collaboration among live art practitioners, dancers, poets, activists, and sound artists who are interested in experimenting as part of a performance art jam. 

Inspired by the monthly meetings organised by Bbeyond and in response to the lack of similar opportunities to perform collaboratively and improvisationally in Dublin, Xchange was founded by Olivia Hassett and Paul Regan. Xchange seeks to provide a platform to create live art and to explore encounters not only between those who take part but also those who witness. Our objective is to promote performance art in the local community and beyond as an unconventional and vital art form for the times we live in.

SubSounds is a youth music collective that is managed and delivered by a partnership between Alternative Entertainments and CONTACT Studio. Sub Sounds aims to empower young people to develop their creativity, musicianship and composition skills through mentorship and collaboration. There are various projects within the collective: SubSounds LP and SubSounds EP.

SubSounds LP is a group of participants aged 14—18. During these sessions participants take part in workshops covering basic musicianship, ensemble playing, songwriting and performing. They write and arrange songs that are worked on in groups, adding band arrangements under the guidance of the tutors. The participants have the opportunity to try out and play new instruments, and perform them as part of a band. The SubSounds LP group work towards creating a collaborative album of their original songs that they write throughout the year.  This album is recorded in the famous Studio 1 of Windmill Lane Recording Studio in Dublin City. The group then launch this album at a gig in a live music venue in Dublin.

SubSounds EP is a song-writing and recording course that caters for individuals who are new to SubSounds. Participants take part in workshops covering songwriting, composition and performing. This course focuses on teaching participants basic musicianship, band etiquette and other skills that helps prepare them to join the SubSounds LP group, and ultimately for their journey in the music industry. The SubSounds EP group work towards creating a collaborative EP of their original songs that they write throughout the term.

For over 15 years, Carousel Theatre School has been bringing the magic of speech and drama to Rua Red, offering classes for young people aged 6 to 18. Our programmes are designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and communication skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Students develop stagecraft, vocal ability, and performance techniques through a wide range of activities, including acting, improvisation, mime, characterisation, storytelling, theatre games, and public speaking. As they progress, they also begin to explore the theory of speech and drama, preparing for both their annual productions and accredited drama exams.

Tots (ages 6—9) & Junior Class (ages 9—12): Young students are introduced to the world of speech and drama through structured exercises, playful activities, and imaginative role play. With a strong emphasis on creativity and fun, the class helps children grow in confidence and self-expression while developing skills in storytelling, reading aloud, poetry, and mime. Tots & Juniors take part in an annual theatre performance, giving them their first taste of the stage.

Senior Class (ages 12—14): This class builds on core performance skills, helping students refine their stage presence, vocal expression, and confidence. Through acting, improvisation, storytelling, and public speaking, students learn to bring characters and stories to life. They also begin to study the theory of speech and drama in preparation for drama exams and performances. Senior students participate in an annual theatre production, the Trinity College London Drama exams, and an end-of-year showcase.

Teen Class (ages 14—16 / ages 16—18): An advanced programme for older students, the Teen Class focuses on developing mature performance skills and a deeper understanding of theatre. Training includes acting, improvisation, voice production, movement, and theatre devising, alongside the study of theatre history and speech theory. Teen students showcase their talents through an annual theatre production, Trinity College London Drama exams, and the end-of-year showcase, preparing them for further study or performance opportunities.

CONTACT studio is a recording studio that is run by South Dublin County Council’s Arts Office. It was established to support the development of arts programming in the county, and to make participation in the arts accessible to the local community.

The studio has been based in Rua Red since it began operating in 2009. CONTACT studio works in partnership with local arts and cultural organisations including Music Generation South Dublin, Rua Red, The Civic, South Dublin Libraries, Alternative Entertainments, and Tallaght Community Arts, to provide a wide range of arts programming and events for the communities in South Dublin County including NOISE Music and SubSounds.

Services include recording, mixing, and editing.

There are multiple benefits from exercising when living with a chronic health condition, or as an older adult. COPDSI has developed an exercise programme delivered by a trained professional, who is able to tailor the exercises to your needs and ability. These classes are designed to help improve your physical, and mental symptoms. These classes take place either one or twice a week a specific time depending on the region. Participation in these classes has been proven to increase muscle strength, flexibility, strength and most importantly control of breathing.

Is tri mheán na Gaeilge a dhéanfar gnó na ranganna thús go deireadh. Más maith leat triail a bhaint as, tá fáilte romhat teacht agus páirt a ghlacadh.

This course consists of weekly Irish classes for adults who already have some Irish. It will run for eight weeks. Emphasis will be put on the spoken language, where everyday life will be discussed using Irish. In addition to this, there will be vocabulary expansion, proverbs, useful phrases, poetry, songs, functional grammar, and listening exercises. The classes will be conducted in Irish from start to finish. If you wish to try it out, you are welcome to come and take part.

Dizzy Footwork Dance Academy is one of the capital’s most successful and prestigious dance schools, renowned for its high-quality training and community of dancers. Children will learn a lot about different aspects and techniques of art while being encouraged to express their individuality and imagination, we will be making a fired pottery piece each term. Each child will receive a Doodle Bag of art materials for the term.

Doodlebox is different from any other art class for kids. Run by a qualified, experienced, and practicing art therapist, the gentleness of this approach combined with years of teaching experience provides a unique learning environment for all the children who attend. Children are encouraged to express their own individuality in their art, they are given every opportunity to be independent thinkers and makers.
