“Regaining Consciousness” at RUA RED will showcase new work from the artist collective SODIUM. With eight artists contributing work, each with their own techniques, style and content, this show will have something of interest for every viewer. 

While their previous show made use of local shop windows, unused spaces and even a phone box, “Regaining Consciousness” will take advantage of one of Dublin’s newest gallery spaces, RUA RED, to provide viewers with the chance to experience a wide range of disciplines in contemporary Art.

The group have repeatedly shown themselves to be capable of producing original and thought provoking work from a variety of unexpected materials, from Judy Foley’s delicate drawings on newsprint to Jane Locke’s illuminated chicken egg and Miriam Sweeney’s shadow images – and, with drawings, paintings, photography, video and installation pieces, this exhibition will have something of interest for every viewer.

Artists exhibiting are: Breda Flynn, Judy Foley, Paul Hickey, Jane Locke, Ri Meehan, Roger O’Neill, Linda Rafferty and Miriam Sweeney.
