Call Out for Sound Out

Are you a hip hop or spoken word artist, DJ or electronic musician who is interested in working with young people and developing their creative skills within your chosen art form?

Do you want to develop your skills as a facilitator in leading these young people through a creative process of Beat Making; DJ set building; refining and collaborating on lyrics; staging concepts and performance? If so, we need you!

Sound Out is a new programme in South Dublin County that aims to empower more young people to express themselves through music and words. On the 12, 13 and 15 June we are offering six free training sessions for artists who want to gain facilitation skills in working with groups of young people through hip hop, spoken word, DJing and electronic music.

Training will be delivered by Bounce Culture at Rua Red, South Dublin Arts Centre, Tallaght. Bounce Culture is a team of creative industry facilitators passionate about empowering people to connect with their “Inner Rhythm. Since 1999, Bounce have celebrated music, people, diversity and creativity with over 13,000 participants through workshops, courses and projects.

If you are interested in taking part please send a CV and cover letter describing why you would want to be part of this programme and why you want to work with young people. Please also include three examples of recent creative work. Applications should be sent to opportunities@ruared.ie by 5pm on Friday 31st May.
