Garbo Productions Theatre Company was founded in 1999 by Margaret Callan- Bergin. Margaret is a writer, director, actor and producer. Garbo Productions has as its main activities Theatre production,Theatre-in education plays and programmes drama and theatre based community projects. Garbo plans to produce its first play for an adult audience in the near future.
PAST PRODUCTIONS
‘The Cleanarmy Heroes’ by Margaret Callan Bergin and sponsored by South Dublin County Council (SDCC). ‘Bruscar the Tidy Giant’ by Margaret Callan Bergin and sponsored by South Dublin County Council. The Garbo Funky Anti-litter Drama Workshop and Fashion Show Programme’ part of which took place in SDCC chambers as part of the launch of SDCC Eco week 2011. Margaret was also commissioned by Tallaght Youth Theatre in 2000 to write ‘Greenspacers’ which had two highly successful runs in Tallaght Theatre.
Most recently Garbo entered into the film world as co-producer and casting director on the short ‘Ray'. Which was written by Carmel Callan and directed by Ferdia Mac Anna as part of the Darklight film festival.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Tales of Kishogue Cross - Margaret is collaborating as a writer on a book of stories with parents from Lucan East Educate Together National School.
Margaret Callan Bergin’s children’s stories are currently broadcasting on R.T.E’s Story lane. Margaret is also a member of the Irish Playwrights and Screenwriters Guild.
