MUSIC
CÓRUS CHOIR
Up lifting, therapeutic and fun! CÓRus is a new type of choir open to everyone who loves to sing, no auditions, no need to read music. Just learn to sing in harmony to the music that’s been the soundtrack of our lives: Pop, Rock, Country, Irish & Gospel.
CÓRus was set up in 2010 by Yvonne McDonald and Mary Lowe in response to a gap they saw in the market for a ‘fun choir’ for adults. They knew that there were people out there who loved to sing but couldn’t read music and had no experience of being in a choir. They were also convinced of the therapeutic effect of singing with a group, and the joy that that could bring.
So with only four weeks planning they opened the doors to their first choir in Dundrum last October and were overwhelmed by the numbers of people who queued to join CÓRus that night. That choir now has over 60 members and growing and CÓRus opened it’s second choir in Rathfarnham in January 2011 which has over 30 members.
CÓRus is a choir for ordinary people with ordinary voices who make an extraordinary sound.
CÓRus choir invite anyone who loves to sing to come along any Thursday evening with no obligation to commit that night but if you like what you hear, join in.
