The intention of the artist in residence project at RUA RED is to give the public a unique opportunity to observe the workings of a music group and how they create, prepare and perform live music. Throughout the week visitors to RUA RED can watch Saso for two hours a day as they rehearse and prepare for a live performance.

This project consolidates Saso's reputation as a genuine independent band with a dedication to producing music of aesthetic individuality and undiminished spirit.

Although relatively unknown in Ireland, Saso is one of the most critically acclaimed bands to come out of the country in recent years and have established a dedicated fanbase in the UK, Europe and the USA. Their debut album (Big Group Hug) was voted Album of the  Week in The Sunday Times, and received 4 out of 5 star reviews in Q Magazine, NME, Muzik, Rock Sound, The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, Hot Press, The Event Guide and many others.

Saso's song 'Type-A Jitters' is the feature music used on the Coors Light TV ad which was the most expensive ad broadcast in Ireland in 2007. Since the campaign started, the song and associated album (I Can Do Nice) have consistently charted in the top 10 downloads on iTunes resulting in unprecedented record sales for the band.

Saso has a wealth of previously released material including three albums 'Big Group Hug' (2001), 'I Can Do Nice' (2004) and 'The Middle Ages' (2006)
