Tallaght Community Arts, present Drawing On The Body, an exhibition of mixed media, oil paintings and drawings by Irish born artist Bernie Masterson.

Artist: Bernie Masterson
Born in Ballymoney, Co Antrim and currently living and working in Dublin. Bernie graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 1982 and has had a successful career exhibiting in both group and solo shows in Ireland, as well as Europe and the USA.

Drawing On The Body
A selection of mixed media, oil paintings and drawings inspired by a collaborative effort between the artist and her mother. The initial collection of oil drawings deals primarily with the surface of the skin and its evolution over the years. The second part of the series brings together the structural elements of her mother's medical record and the memories evoked by photographs documenting landmarks in her life.

The combined effect of the collection forms a narrative that gives a visual expression to an inner life.
